Gaps where The Network Contributes

The members of CARN-AP identified areas of gaps in policy regime, programmatic actions in making communities resilient. The gaps are as follows:

  1. Voices of the vulnerable are not appropriately, adequately heard;
  2. People do not still access to knowledge, information and resources so that they can be change-makers in the society, leading to social transformation;
  3. Government policies and actions, in many instances, deny common people’s access to natural resources. This does not allow them to build their strengths depending on their own resource base;
  4. Longstanding actions rarely support enhancing community resilience where food and nutrition, health, education are secured;
  5. Sustainability model is non-existent in development programming.

The space created by CARN-AP enables to spread the message that climate change is the most important challenge of the time and community resilience would be the ultimate requirement to address related challenges. Believing the fact, that through this space it could be possible to spread awareness about the impacts of climate change and promote a shift to renewable energy & sustainable land use in the local community, the CARN-AP was initiated.
